Albany, Get Ready… Monsterball Dodgeball Championship is coming
Albany is about to get hit with something BIG.
This March, the Monsterball Dodgeball Championship is launching as part of Thursdays on York, bringing six weeks of fast-paced competition, loud energy, and all-out dodgeball chaos to the Albany Town Square.
And this isn’t casual throw-and-go dodgeball.
This is organised teams, weekly matches, official leaderboards, trophies, prizes, and the kind of bragging rights that last all year.
What’s Happening?
The Monsterball Dodgeball Championship will run from 5 March to 16 April, finishing with a huge School Holiday Finals Night on Thursday 16 April.
Games will take place every Thursday evening between 3:30pm and 7:30pm, with match times scheduled within that window depending on your division.
So whether you’re coming to play, cheer, or just watch the chaos unfold… Thursday nights in Albany are about to level up.
How the Competition Works
Teams of six players will battle it out each week inside the Monsterball inflatable arena, right in the heart of the Albany Town Square.
You can also register up to two substitutes, which is handy because trust us… dodgeball gets intense.
Matches are short, sharp, and made for maximum action, with two 5-minute halves (around 10–12 minutes total). That means no long waits and no slow games: just constant movement, quick eliminations, and big moments every round.
Each week, teams earn points and climb the leaderboard, fighting for a spot in the finals.
At the end of the season, the top four teams in each division will qualify for the Finals Night showdown.
